Collection: Open-Ended Play
It is the work of Magda Gerber, the creator of the RIE approach that inspired me to include the Open-Ended Play range to U.Me Play. Gerber coined the popular concept that active toys make for passive children, and passive toys make for active children. In other words, the less a toy does, the more the child has to do, and the more the child has to do, the more their brain has to do!
These open-ended resources support not only the common things we want for our children such as learning colours, counting, shapes etc but they also support the type of learning that is known to improve overall life outcomes; creativity, persistence, grit and strategical thinking.
The products in this range are the foundations of an open-ended play environment that will be loved from the ages one to ten and I promise that once you put any of these resources in the hands of a child, the play opportunities will be limitless and you’ll be smiling from ear to ear as you watch your child’s imagination thrive.
